Daily Tarot

I'm back to using "The Witches Tarot" by Ellen Cannon Reed. I bought a replacement for the deck I lost in the storm a few weeks back, and have carried it with me instead of my tried-and-true Robin Wood deck.

Today I drew the Ten of Wands:

The Ten of Wands usually shows a man carrying the wands on his back, bent over by the heavy burden. Reed's Ten is quite different. The seeker holds a photograph of a house or cottage as s/he stands before that very same house. The Wands are part of a wall that is in between the seeker and the house. A stream or brook also separates the two. The far bank of the stream is rocky. If the seeker can get across the water and over the rocks, however, there is an opening in the wall what would allow passage.

The seeker is looking for home and hearth, a good subject for a card in the suit of Wands. Upon reaching the destination, there are obstacles. Can the seeker overcome them?

This is a great card to show the obstacles that many New Orleanians are experiencing in "coming home." We have our memories of home, but obstacles are in our way.
